Candepar



Khandepar, also spelt Candepar, is in Ponda taluk of North Goa District. The place is on the National Highway 4A and is nearly 5 km from Ponda, the taluk headquarters. Usgao is about 3 km north-east.

Khandepar is famous for the 12th century Khandepar Caves. Safa Shahouri Masjid is around 5 km away. Pascoal Spice Village and Garden of Eden (an award winning plantation renowned for its unique spices) are here. The Shantadurga Temple at Khandepar is a prominent shrine.

The place can be reached from Goa Airport and Verna Railway Station.
