Kavlem

Kavlem, nestled in the Ponda valley, is in North Goa District. It is situated 33 km from Panaji and 2 km west of Ponda. Prime attractions are the Shri Shantadurga Temple, dedicated to Shantadurga, and Shri Saunsthan Gaudpadacharya Kavle Math. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya traveled to this village to obtain his diksha from Gaudapada. Nearby shrine is the Shree Kamakshi Temple (12 km).

Goa Airport and Margao Railway Station are the nearest access points.
