Pirla Rock Art Site

Pirla Rock Art Site is located in Pirla village near Quepem of South Goa District. These recently excavated pre-historic rock art carvings are said to be more than 8000 years old.

There are a cluster of rock-carvings which includes a female figure, two male figures, three deers and a humped bull. All are carved on a hard laterite bed. The female figure is around 1.5 m in height, and is illustrated with the right hand raised above the head. The male figures are smaller in size than the female figure and are also shown with one hand raised above the head.

Balli Railway Station and Goa Airport are the nearest rail junction and airport.
