Valpoi




Valpoi, one of the main villages of Goa, is situated beyond the city of Bicholim. It is a densely forested area which is famous for spice farms, caju (cashew) plantations and other forest produce. The town can be reached through road transport. Today it has equipped itself with all the basic necessities and is counted among the most advanced villages of Goa. It has an impressive infrastructure and holds many private establishments.

Carambolim, 7 km from the village, holds the 5th century Brahma Temple. Madei Wildlife Sanctuary is the main attraction here.

Panaji is 50 km from Valpoi. The nearest railway station is at Karmali, about 12 km and the airport is at Dabolim.
