Salcette

Salcette is the southern most taluk of South Goa District, headquartered at Margao. The region was under the rule of various kingdoms, which belonged to the Hindus, Muslims and Portuguese and the relics of those days still live amidst modernity.

Places of attraction include the Rachol Fort and Seminary, Colva Beach, Benaulim Beach, Mobor Beach and the 17th century Church of the Holy Spirit. Accommodations of various ranges are aplenty in Salcette.

Nearest airport is at Dabolim. Madgaon Railway Station is a major railhead on Konkan Railways. The National Highway 17 connecting Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka runs through Salcette.
