Cotigao




Cotigao is a village of great tourist importance situated 3 km off National Highway 17, which connects Panaji with Mangalore. Located in South Goa District, it lies on the foot of the Western Ghats on the southern tip of Goa, near Karnataka border.

The village holds the second largest Wildlife sanctuary of Goa, Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. Talpona river flows through this village and adds to the beauty of the land. The ancient Jeevottam Partagal Math, noted for Vedic Studies, is situated here.

The nearest railway station is Canacona Railway Station and the airport is at Dabolim.
