Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary



Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the foothills of the Western Ghats, lies on the border of Ponda and Sanguem talukas in north-east Goa. This 8 sq km sanctuary includes a botanical garden, fenced deer park and zoo.

Sambar deer and wild boar are the main attractions. Besides, monkeys, wild boar, deer, gaur, langurs, jackals, pythons and leopards are found. The sanctuary is also a treat for bird watchers and butterfly spotters. Elephant rides are available.

The sanctuary is around 55 km north-east of Panaji. Usgao Tisk village is 10 km away.

The sanctuary is 20 km off National Highway 4A. Branch off at Tiska on the National Highway and the state highway from Tiska goes via Usgaon and Gangem to Bondla.
