Centrally located to the north-west of India Gate in the capital city, New Delhi, Hyderabad House is a sprawling palace built in 1928. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, one of the greatest British architects, this princely house has 36 rooms. It is believed that the palace was built for a lady friend of the Nawab of Hyderabad. This massive structure reflects the
Mughal and European architectural style. Today the palace is under the control of the government and is used as the guest house for foreign dignitaries. Major media events and joint press conferences are also held here.
Nearest railhead is at Paharganj and the Indira Gandhi International Airport is 20 km south of New Delhi.
