Mutiny Memorial

Mutiny Memorial is situated at Delhi, to the west of the Kashmiri Gate. It was built by the British in remembrance of the soldiers who lost their lives in the First War of Indian Independence in 1857. A full list of these soldiers is provided here.

The War was derided as a 'mutiny' by the British rulers. There was an attempt after Independence to valorize the Sepoys as Heroes.
