Beher is one of the major poetic components applied in
Ghazal, which in turn is a collection of Shers. Beher is the meter or length of the Shers. It is compulsory that both the lines in the Shers must be of the same Beher. Thus, it is evident that Ghazal is a composition of Shers of same Behers. Beher takes three forms - short, medium, and long.
