Shalimar Garden




Shalimar Garden is one of the most beautiful Mughal gardens lying 10 km north-west of Old Delhi, in Delhi. Situated in the suburbs of the city, it was once the first-night staging post for the Mughals on their way to Kashmir and Lahore.

Shalimar Garden houses a beautiful central pavilion, the Shish Mahal, built by Shah Jahan. In 1658, Aurangzeb was crowned emperor here. The garden has many astonishing flowering plants. Shalimar Garden highlights the architectural beauty and heritage of the Mughals.
