Fudam

Fudam is a village located near Nagoa Beach in Diu District of Daman and Diu. This fascinating small settlement, which resembles a Mediterranean village, is about 5 km west of Diu town. The place has a Portuguese atmosphere with its old houses and old churches.

Prime attraction is the church of Our Lady of Remedies, which has a large, old, carved wooden alter with Madonna and child remains inside. Gangeshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is another draw. The noteworthy feature of the temple is that a shivling called Gangeshwar, in the midst of rocks, is washed by the tidal waves of the sea.

Excellent accommodation can be made at Hotel Kohinoor, featuring Portuguese style of architecture. Mouth-watering Chinese and Goan delights are served at the Rio bar and restaurant.

Fudam is linked with Diu town by a well-built road that stretches from the south of Diu town's wall, joining up with the old Fudam Road after about 2 km.
