The emerging steel city



Raigarh City in Raigarh District, Chhattisgarh, is one of the major and fastest growing industrial cities of India. Raigarh was also the first region of the country to join the Republic of India by signing on the agreement to form a unified India.

The city holds an annual music concert in the Raigarh Palace which lasts for a week. It also houses a beautiful temple, Shri Shyam Mandir, in the heart of the city. Jindal Steel Plant, one of the largest steel plants in the state after Bhilai Steel Plant, is only 6 miles away from the city. Some of the major attractions of the city include Pahad Temple, Gowrishankar Temple, Ramgharana and Kelo waterfall.

Bilaspur Airport, 139 km away from Raigarh, is the nearest airfield and Raigarh Railway Station is the railhead.
