Mahamrityunjaya Panchmukhee Shiv Mandir




Mahamrityunjaya Panchmukhee Shiv Mandir is located at Ratanpur, about 25 km from Bilaspur, in Chhattisgarh. It is situated close to the ancient Shri Mahamaya Devi Mandir. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva, enshrined in the form of a Shivling.

The temple, made of red stone, is believed to be the origin of the Mahamaya statue. Devotees believe that the deity will fulfill their wishes if they perform proper puja and hanging a coconut wrapped in red cloth on the tree before the temple.

Kanthi Dewal Temple, situated nearby, is worth visiting.

Bilaspur Junction Railway Station, on the Mumbai-Howrah main line is the nearest railhead.
