Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary




Established in 1974, the Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary occupies the southern most part of Dhamtari District of Chhattisgarh.

It is spread in area of about 553 sq km, mainly undulating and hilly terrain. This sanctuary is home to tigers, panthers, leopards, jackals, sloth bear, Indian wild dogs, chital, axis, sambar deer, nilgai, gaur, muntjac and wild boar. River Sondur flows through the sanctuary.

Raipur Airport is the closest airport, about 170 km away. Dhamtari Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Nearest town is Dhamtari.
