Dantewada




Dantewada, the headquarters of Dantewada District in Chhattisgarh, is an ancient town situated 87 km south-west of Jagdalpur. It was the erstwhile capital of a princely state. According to some stone carvings, the city in pre-historic times was called Tarlapal and Dantawali.

Places of attraction include Danteshwari Temple, Bhairm Baba’s shrine and Memory Pillars of Gamawada and Bailadila.

Raipur is 383 km north. Nearest airport is at Raipur. Dantewada Railway Station is on the Kirandul-Topokal line.
