Durg is a populous district of Chhattisgarh
. It occupies the south-western part of the Upper Sheonath-Mahanadi valley and the bordering hills in the south and south-west. The climate is moderate. In summer, the temperature goes to a maximum of 43-45º C. In winter, the minimum temperature falls to 12º C. The average rainfall is around 1,024 mm.
The main crops are rice
