Raxaul

Raxaul is a small town situated on the Indo-Nepal border, 210 km northwest of Patna, in Bihar. The streets of the town are narrow, crowded and dirty and are not the best of a locale to hang around. Raxaul is virtually a twin town with Birganj, just across the other side of the border. Visas are available at the border for a cost of $30. The main tourist attraction of this place is a temple dedicated to the Sun God, Surya.

Nearest airport is at Patna. Raxaul Junction Railway Station has connections to New Delhi and Kolkata. National Highway 28A passes through Raxaul and buses are available from Patna.
