Janaki Temple




Janaki Temple is a highly revered shrine located near the Sitamarhi Bus Station, in Bihar. The temple is dedicated to Sita. Along with Sita Devi, Lord Ram and Lakshman are also worshipped here. There is a spring adjacent to the temple.

Legend is that, while ploughing, Janaka found Sita at the site of the spring. The temple is constructed in memory of this incident.

Sitamarhi Railway Station has connections to Raxaul, Motihari, Darbhanga, Patna and Samastipur. By road, Sitamarhi is linked with Motihari, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Sheohar. Sitamarhi is about 122 km from Patna Airport.
