Ugratara Temple

Ugratara Temple is a Buddhist temple situated at Maheshi, a small village in Saharsa District of Bihar. Maheshi is rather inaccessible from other parts of Bihar.

The temple enshrines the image of Tara. The idol was imported to India from Tibet. Ugratara, also known by the name Maha-Cina-Tara, is an excellent example of Tantric culture.

The nearest railhead is Mansi Junction Railway Station, which is served by the North Eastern Railways.
