Mandar Hill




Mandar Hill, 1500 ft high, is located in Banka District. It is 48 km south of Bhagalpur and 3 km north of Baunsi.

This hill is believed to have been used as Churner by Gods during Samudra-Manthan.

The major attraction is a Digambar Jain temple, which is at the top of the hill. Another highlight is Paapharani, a sacred pond which is believed to relieve one from all sins. A major draw is fifteen day long Makar Sankranti mela.

Places of interest nearby are Mandar Vidyapith and Adawait Mission.

Mandar Hill can be approached from Mandar Hill Railway Station, which is 5 km away. Buses are also available to reach here.
