Magahi Language




Magahi or Magadhi Language is used in a region of Bihar that was once known as Magadha. The language is also spoken in Patna, Gaya, Nalanda and Rajgir. Magahi is generally written in Devanagari and is close to Hindi. It is believed that Lord Buddha spoke in this language. A number of religious text of Jainism are also composed in this language.
