Aurangabad District




Aurangabad District of Bihar has an area of 3,305 sq km. It has a population of over 1.6 million. Economy is based on agriculture and industry. Paddy, wheat and lentils are some of the important agricultural crops. Carpet and blanket weaving are the main industries. The Son, Punpun, Auranga and Morhar are the major rivers.

Aurangabad is also famous for the woolen carpets woven in the Obra area.
