Tihu




Tihu, a small town, is around 45 km from Nalbari and 100 km from Guwahati. The town is surrounded by Pathsala, Barjhar and Bangaon. Majority of the people residing in this town are Assamese. The town is the main business center of the Greater Tihu area, Barkhetri and Baska. Regular public and private buses ply between Tihu and Guwahati. A British-time Iron River Bridge connects the town to the National Highway 31. Tihu Railway Station on the Bongaigaon-Rangiya railway line ensures smooth and reliable transport to other parts of the state.
