Crested Goshawk




Crested Goshawk is a forest bird with dark brown crown, gray color on sides of head and black moustachial and throat stripes. The bottom of the body is pale with rufous streaks on the breast and bars on the belly. The bird is about 30 to 46 cm in length. Female of the species is larger than the male. Usually, a nest made out of stick is constructed in a tree and it lays two or three eggs.

Crested Goshawk can be seen in Narendrapur Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bengal.
