Samalkot is a small pilgrim town in the
East Godavari District of
Andhra Pradesh. Samalkot is around 165 west of
Visakhapatnam.
Major point of attraction here is the temple of Sri Kumara Rama Bheemeswara Swami, one of the Pancharamas as described in Sprint’s Beeswax Purana. The Suryanarayana Swami shrine at Peddapuram (4 km) is another spot worth visiting.
Samalkot Junction Railway Station is a prominent railhead of East Godavari District.
