Mahanandiswara Swamy Temple is situated in
Mahanandi of
Kurnool District. It is a 7th century temple which dates back to the
early Chalukyan period.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva with Sri Mahanandiswara Swamy as the presiding deity in the form of a linga. The unique feature is the crystal-clear water, which flows all through the year from five perennial springs.
The temple organizes a festival of Mahanandiswara, which is celebrated for more than seven days beginning from 'Magha Bhula Chaturdasi' (February-March).
