Pillalamari




Pillalamarri is a 700-year-old banyan tree in Mahabubnagar District. The magnificent tree with its branches stretching over an area of three acres is acclaimed as a 'living legend' of Mahabubnagar District. The tree is located about 4 km from Mahabubnagar town.

From a distant point, Pillalamarri looks like a small hillock with green foliage. As one draws closer, it appears like a large green umbrella and it tree can shelter up to 1,000 persons. A tomb of a Muslim saint is seen under the Pillalamarri.
