Nizam Ali Khan

Nizam Ali Khan (1734-1803), the fourth son of the Mir Qamaruddin, was ascribed as the Subedari of the Deccan at the age of 28 years and ruled for about 42 years. His governance was one of the most important periods in the history of the Asif Jahi dynasty. Nizam Ali Khan shifted his capital from Aurangabad to Hyderabad. He signed a mutual protection treaty with the British and thus protected his kingdom from the invasion of the Marathas and Tipu Sultan of Mysore. Nizam Ali Khan passed away in 1803 and was buried at the Mecca Masjid beside the tomb of his mother Umda Begum.
