Medak, the erstwhile headquarters of Medak District, is situated 96 km from Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh. The place has a typical Telangana culture.

Medak is endowed with archaeological treasures. Archaeological excavations reveal the prevalence of Buddhist culture in ancient times. Major attraction of the town is the Medak Church, which is considered as the single largest diocese in Asia and the second largest in the world after the Vatican.

Other places of tourist interest in and around the city include Medak Fort, Koti Lingeshwara Swamy Temple, Sri Kasi Vishweshwara Temple, Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Edupayalu, Nandi Kandi and Kondapur Museum.

Nearest airport is at Hyderabad. Closest railhead is Kamareddy (60 km).
