Kanaka Durga Temple




The Kanaka Durga Temple is located in Edapayalu in Medak District. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga.

Legend has it that, Maharaja Parikshit, the grandson of Arjuna, performed 'Sarpa Yagya' to get rid of his sins. When Garuda, the eagle, was transporting the snakes their blood is said to have fallen in seven places, which became streams. River Manjeera that flows through these premises is the confluence of all the seven streams.
