Masala Dosa

Spicy Dosa

A pure vegetarian delicacy from South India, Masala Dosa is a thin and crispy rice-lentil crepe filled with spiced potatoes and onions. This South Indian breakfast dish has now become extremely popular all over India and abroad. The preparation process is quite elaborate and special care is taken to preserve the ethnic taste. The batter made is similar to regular dosa batter with some additional ingredients. The traditional dosa is heated on a grill until it becomes golden and crispy, then wrapped with the savory fillings like spiced potatoes and rolled into a cone. Masala dosa is usually served with chutney and a fiery lentil soup known as sambar.
