Pav Bhaji

A typical Mumbai fast food dish, Pav Bhaji is a medley of vegetables in a spicy and buttery sauce served with bread. Pav means a bun shaped home-made bread. Bhaji means mashed vegetables. The ingredients are potatoes, onions, cauliflower, shimla mirchi, tomatoes, fresh ginger, salt, garlic, green peas, haldi powder, chili powder, Pav Bhaji masala, kothmir and lemons. From its humble origins in the by-lanes of Mumbai, it has become a favorite with the busy office goers. This mini meal is served up hot anywhere from road-side stalls to the most elegant of restaurants and hotels.
