Bhongir town in
Nalgonda District is about 51 km from
Hyderabad. It is built around a huge drum-like hill with a ruined
fort on top. The fort is a fine specimen of amazing architectural skills.
The town was built by Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI and got the name Tribhuvanagiri, which in due course, was called as Bhuvanagiri, and later Bhongir. It is also famous for earthenware.
