Sree Seetharamachandra Swamy Temple is located at Bhadrachalam in Khammam District. It is dedicated to Lord Ram and is regarded as one of the greatest holy shrines in south India with a unique historical background. The temple was constructed in the 17th Century by Kancharla Gopanna, an ardent devotee of Lord Ram, better known as Bhakta Ramadas.
The important feature of the temple is that 48 forms of Lord Vishnu are shown here. The idol of Lord Ram has a bow on one side and shanku (conch) and chakra, thereby presenting two avatars - that of Lord Vishnu and Lord Ram. Another distinguishing feature of the temple is that Sita is seated on Ram's lap. A place called Ushnagundam is situated near the temple, where Lakshman had brought hot water for Sita to bathe.
Sreeramanavami is held here in March-April in a great splendor and a large number of devotees throng here to witness the holy "Kalyana Mahotsavam"(marriage anniversary celebrations of Lord Ram and his consort Sitadevi).
Other important festivals are Vaikunta Ekadasi, in the month of December or January, and Kartik Purnima (October - November).
