Zarnishan, also known as Zarbuland, is a technique of inlaying silver. This technique is used for adorning articles made of metal, wood or stone.
Silver wires are beaten into patterned grooves made on the base material. The edges of the grooves are setup with a blunt punch or chisel to strengthen the hold on the wires. The inlayed silver are not flattened to the surface, instead they are left as relief.
The motifs include flowers, humans, animals and other abstract designs.
