Winter Cherry is a tomentose under-shrub with stout and fleshy taproot, ovate leaves, and greenish or lirud yellow flowers.
It is considered to be aphrodisiac and geriatric tonic. Winter Cherry is given for the treatment of rheumatism, cough and consumption. It is also known as ashvagandha, hayahvaya and vajigandha.
