White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) is medium sized (28 cm) with white throat and breast and the head and rest of underparts are chocolate brown. Its wings, tail and back are turquoise. The bird feeds on fish, tadpoles, grasshoppers, lizards and insects. It dives to catch aquatic prey.
