White-tailed Lapwing (Vanellus leucurus) is an elegant medium-sized lapwing with long yellow legs and a fairly long bill.
Adult birds are slim with a brown back and fore neck, paler face and gray breast. Its tail is pure white and distinctive brown, while wings are black and white.
It is the only lapwing to be seen in very shallow water, where it looks for insects and other small prey. Usually four eggs are laid in a ground nest.
White-tailed Lapwing can be seen in Bund Baretha Sanctuary, Rajasthan.
