White barked Acacia (Acacia leucophloea is a moderate-sized evergreen tree that grows in dry forests. It belongs to the family Leguminosae Mimosoideae.
The plant is characterized by hard, reddish brown heartwood; panicled, globular inflorescence; and stipular thorns. Urjia produces irregularly elliptical, dark brown, smooth and shining seeds; and yellow flowers. The bark of the tree is considered a very good astringent. Shwet barhura, Urjia and Tellatumma are the other names of this plant.
