White Lily (Latin name, Lilium polyphyllum) is a narrow bulb-shaped aromatic plant with few narrow subequal fleshy scales, having soothing, astringent, and anti-inflammatory properties. The bulbs are considered to be sweet, bitter, refrigerant, galactagogue, expectorant, aphrodisiac, diuretic, antipyretic and tonic.
It is prescribed as a remedy for agalatia, bronchitis, vitiated conditions of pitta, seminal weakness, strangury, burning sensation, hyperdipsia, intermittent fevers, hematemesis, rheumatalgia and general disability.
It is also known as Ksirakakoli.
