Wakha River

Wakha River is a major tributary of Shigar (South) River. The fountainhead of this river is the Zanskar Range.

In its course, it gushes through the Wakha Valley, making the valley more attractive. The banks of the Wakha River are noted for its Buddhist monuments. Mulbekh and Shergol are situated on the banks of this river.

Wakha along with the river Drass finally drains into the Suru River at Wakha Rgyal near Kargil.
