Vrushabha Chaleswara Swamy Temple




Vrushabha Chaleswara Swamy Temple is a major temple located at Vempalle, on the beautiful hills of Vrushabadri. The sacred Papagni River flows about 2 km away from this temple. Dedicated to Eddula Konda Swamy and Vrushabha Chaleswara Swamy, this temple attracts a large number of devotees. According to myth, Lord Vishnu was born here in the form of Vrushabha Chaleswara Swamy to kill a demon called Vrushabha Surudu. This temple is popularly known as Bhaskara Kshetram. As a part of worship, devotees offer their hair to the chief deity. Neelakanteswara Temple and Gabimanneswara Temple are nearby attractions.
