Vitthal Temple

Vitthal Temple is located at Pandharpur in Solapur District of Maharashtra. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Surrounded by towering walls pierced by eight gates, the murthi stands on a high platform.

Close to this temple is the Rakhumai Temple dedicated to Rukmini, an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Pandharpur is about 38 km west of Solapur. Pandharpur Railway Station on the Kurduwadi-Sangole railway line is the nearest.
