Vishav River

Flowing through the Kashmir Valley, Vishav River is fed by the famous Kaunsarnag or Vishno Pad Lake situated at an elevation of about 4000 m above sea level in the Panjal Mountain ranges. It merges with the River Jhelum below Bijbehara. Vishav River is mainly used to transport logs from the upper course to the valley. The Vishav cascades down 24.4 m as an impressive waterfall at Aharbal, creating an awesome gorge at the foot of the fall.
