Visakha Puja

A Buddhist Festival

Visakha Puja comes on the 15th day of the waxing moon in the sixth lunar month (the middle of May on the international calendar). It is the holiest day for the Buddhists because Lord Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and died on this day. A public sermon is held during the day and a candle lit parade is organized to honor Lord Buddha.
