Vipaka Sutra is a highly venerated text belonging to the Jain community. It is a part of the canonical literature containing
Lord Mahavir’s teachings, which are collectively termed as Agam Sutras. It is also often referred by the name Vivagsuyam.
The literal meaning of ‘Vipaka’ is fruit or consequence of karma (action). As the name suggests Vipaka Sutra primarily deals with the results of the good and bad karmas. This text propounds the principles through the medium of stories.
