Village on Wheels




Introduced in November 29, 2004, Village on Wheels is a luxury tourist train for commoners. Its aim is to promote domestic tourism and national integration among the common people. It is a project of Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Indian Railways. The train has eight coaches including a pantry car. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner are served through out the journey. Train fare includes food, refreshments, tea or coffee and sightseeing at important centers of religious, cultural and historical places. Besides medical facilities on board, Village on Wheels has a banker and safe deposit vault to keep valuables and cash. Its comprehensive services include allied activities at different places. Various packages cover all the places in India.
