Velur


Velur is a small town on the banks of the Cauvery, in Namakkal District near its border with Karur District. It lies along the National Highway 7, about 20 km south-west of Namakkal. Pugalur is the first major settlement on the other side of the border.

The fort of Namakkal and Kolli Hills and Kolli Waterfalls are some tourist places nearby.

Nearest airport is at Tiruchirapalli. Karur Junction Railway Station and Pugalur Railway Station serve Velur.
