Velayudaswami Temple

Velayudaswami Temple is located at Kanakagiri near Sankari in Salem District, Tamil Nadu. Kanakagiri got its name from gold mines situated here. The temple deity is Lord Muruga in the standing position. Saint Arunagirinathar glorified this temple through his hymns of Thiruppugazh. Kartikai star of each month and new moon days are auspicious here. Panguni Uthiram, Poosam and Shivratri are the major festivals celebrated in the temple.
